Hello, hope you have a nice day! Well today I would like to tell the unique tradition of art come from Bali. Before that, let me tell about the bamboo tree. Bamboo tree is the one of tree who has much function to help our life, such as for make our garden more beautiful and for building also can use the bamboo tree. Bamboo tree also use for the traditional art instrument from the Indonesia. Well, now I would tell the bamboo traditional instrument. Here is it!

Bamboo in Indonesia has much type of bamboo. The type of there are 10 genus and 1450 species and in Indonesia there are some like Asparagus Cochinchinensis, Gigantochloa Atroviolacea, Dendrocalamus asper and many more. Bamboo tree in Indonesia is used for traditional instrument also. The instrument are famous and the has the liker around the world. The traditional instrument come from Indonesia is Angklung. Angklung is one of the traditional instruments it’s made from bamboo tree.

The angklung is a musical instrument from Indonesia made of two to four bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved to have a resonant pitch when struck and are tuned to octaves, similar to american handbells. The base of the frame is held in one hand, whilst the other hand shakes the instrument. This causes a repeating note to sound. Each of three or more performers in an angklung ensemble play just one note or more, but altogether complete melodies are produced.

The angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, but it originated in what is now West Java and Banten provinces in Indonesia, and has been played by the Sundanese for many centuries. Angklung and its music has become the cultural identity of Sundanese communities in West Java and Banten. Playing angklung as an orchestra requires cooperation and coordination, and is believed promotes the values of teamwork, mutual respect and social harmony.

On November 18, 2010, UNESCO officially recognized Indonesian angklung as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, and encourage Indonesian people and government to safeguard, transmit, promote performances and to encourage the craftsmanship of angklung making.
